Profile

David Rose is a camera man who has worked for over 20 years in the television industry. Starting as a 17 year old film camera assistant at Melbourne’s HSV7 he soon moved to GTV9 to shoot 16mm film for their news and documentary unit.

With the demise of the film acquisition within the networks 1983 he bought a CP16 film camera and went freelance with reasonable success. After playing lots of golf he returned 12 months later to a position back at HSV7 working for their
current affairs department, soon gathering awards for his photographic style, he was offered a position within the rival networks premier current affairs unit. A four year stint established David as one the country’s best cameraman with multiple awards for his work.In 1992 he bought his first Sony betacam SP and went freelance.

David travels a great deal and has dug out the rather extraordinary pics below that truly convey some of the stunning environments he captures... all in a days work.
